“Very Black Robe” by Chaynaya Pochta (oolong with shu pu-erh), 100 g.

It’s still an oolong, despite what they tried to do with it. The blend is crafted very cleanly and evenly. The roast is smooth and consistent, almost too perfect. A strong roast without going overboard, while preserving that rich, oily plum-like creaminess — juicy, easy-drinking, and delightfully reminiscent of a classic yancha experience. Brew it stronger, and you start to notice a certain body coming from the shu pu-erh material — not so much in the flavor itself, but in the texture and sensation. By the 5th+ infusion, the black tea character becomes more pronounced as the rocky yancha notes gradually fade into the background.
