Dian Hong Mao Feng "AA" (Hairy Peaks), 2025
Organoleptic properties: The aroma is very airy and fresh, it spreads out wide, filling the space, but leaving a note of mystery. Flowers and berries mix into a viscous jam. In a warmed leaf, damp mossiness and bitterness of autumn herbs, masculinity of musk and leather smelling of smoke awaken. In the melody of taste, the main note of gentle sweetness sounds, the voluminous astringency of pine and cedar wraps in a tight ring.
When to drink: At ceremonies and group tea parties, carefully and slowly. Or alone, when you want to explore something tricky.
Pros: Feels like a mature Dian Hong, with great potential for exploration. The tea has a sense of wise old age, a wise farewell. Like the last ball - still in gold and luxury, but you already know that there will be no more of this. Delicate sweetness and woody astringency merge into a masculine and feminine melody. Like an unshaven man, with the smells of smoke and cognac, and a woman in floral and bakery aromas, they do not oppose, but complement each other.
Cons: Difficult to understand tea, based on a combination of opposites. It is difficult to single out individual notes, everything is so intertwined. To appreciate the entire symphony at once and the playing of each instrument separately, you need to grow up.
