Lao Shou Mei Cha Wan 2012, 350g.
A pressed white tea from Fuding, harvested in 2012, captivates at first glance with its appearance. The compression is not tight, and the leaves look beautiful in a 350 g cake, easily separable by hand.
The aroma of the dry leaf recalls fallen autumn foliage and the sweetness of linden honey. Once the leaves are warmed, additional notes emerge—champignons, fresh leather, and anise. From the very first cup, a strong Cha Qi is felt. It is calm, serene, and deep.
The taste is delicate and smooth, with the familiar linden honey character and a light, pleasant herbaceousness. With each infusion, one sinks deeper into a gentle yet powerful state of contemplation and stillness.
It is recommended to use water at around 80°C and about 4–5 g of tea per 120–150 ml of vessel volume. The Chinese say that aged white tea is like medicine for both body and soul. It is also worth noting that this tea is best enjoyed through multiple infusions; thermos brewing does not suit it. Here, one should savor each steep—carefully, slowly, and in quiet observation.
