Shu Pu-erh “Gong Ting in Brick” (Bud-Grade Pu-erh), Yong Zhen (Lincang), 250 g, 2024
The 250 g brick consists of a fine-grade material typical of Gong Ting. The compression is moderate — the edges break off easily by hand, while the core remains denser. The color of the dry leaf includes all shades of brown.
When warmed by breath, it reveals a nutty-chocolate aroma with hints of damp wood and camphor. Once brewed with boiling water, it produces a dark, dense, almost opaque liquor, and the aroma intensifies.
The taste is soft and velvety. Sweetness of nutmeg and hazelnut, dark chocolate, and a touch of prunes. A pleasant tannic bitterness of woody resin and coniferous wood.
The tea provides a noticeable uplifting effect, awakening and filling with energy. The state is clear, with good tone and focus. It is a pity that it fades after 3–4 infusions, but this is enough to experience all its nuances.
