Shu Pu-erh “Golden Bud”, Yong Zhen factory, 2023, 357 g
An attractive shu pu-erh cake from the Yong Zhen factory (2023) immediately impresses both visually and through its vivid aroma when the dry leaf is warmed: clear notes of walnut, cashew, and sweet wood are present. The steamed leaves add a light iodine-like nuance and a spicy bitterness.
The taste combines creaminess, iodine-like character, and sweetness. From the first cups, the tea shows a strong energetic effect — the intensity of the young raw material quickly reveals itself with a surge of energy and a desire to act.
There is a sense that this shu pu-erh will transform over the next few years into a very unusual and well-balanced tea.
For brewing, water close to 95°C is recommended, with a dosage of about 7–8 g per 120 ml. This tea performs well both in gongfu style, preferably in a clay teapot, and as a longer infusion.
An excellent companion for long forest walks and hikes.
