“Yellow Buds from Huo Mountain” from Anhui Province.
The dry leaf opens with creamy pastry and buttery biscuit notes, accompanied by cherry syrup and a lightly toasted crust. Once warmed, the leaves reveal subtle vegetal nuances, while the lid of the gaiwan carries the delicate aroma of flowering trees.
The taste is gentle, silky, and sweet, with plenty of vanilla and cream alongside a barely perceptible touch of greenery.
The tea has a deeply calming character, quieting the mind almost immediately.
Brewing:
We recommend using water no hotter than 80°C.
Pros & cons:
The first three infusions are beautifully balanced in flavor, aroma, and overall character. After that, the tea gradually becomes more vegetal, with a slight bitterness emerging as its delicate texture slowly fades.
A delicate yellow tea with a piquant, slightly savory aroma and exceptionally fine, tender buds, perfectly uniform in appearance. Think of a vanilla bun accompanied by a glass of milk.
The liquor is quite pale yet full of subtle aromas and flavors. Best enjoyed with a clean palate, preferably in the morning — but not immediately after brushing your teeth, as toothpaste can easily mask its delicate character.
The aroma gently tickles the nose with notes of bay leaf and white pepper. The taste is delicately sweet with a subtle spicy edge.
